Botox Pain Management

Some say that getting old and the negative effects of aging can be a pain in the neck. But do you know what else is a pain in the neck. A pain in the neck!

Many people as they get older begin to experience severe joint and muscle pain. But what doctors have realized id the Botox anti-aging formula that has been so popular in the last few years can also be used to ease the muscle pain that also comes with old age.

When used in combination with physical therapy, Botox can dramatically reduce the pain felt in ones neck due to factors that include ageing.

Researchers say the results of this small study show that Botox may also be a useful addition to physical therapy to relieve neck pain caused by chronically contracted muscles.

Botox for neck pain

Researchers says treating neck pain with Botox injections may also have an advantage over oral pain medications because the effects of the injection are local and does not cause the type of side effects commonly associated with oral pain medications, such as sedation, fatigue, and dizziness.

The findings are consistent with previous studies that have shown Botox injections can relieve pain caused by other muscle-related conditions, such as cervical dystonia and spasticity (neck muscle stiffness and spasms).

These studies show that the duration of pain relief offered by Botox varies from about three to- six months, depending on the disorder

Of course if you do find that you have chronic neck pain it is always best to consult with your physician before you undergo any kind of treatment. You doctor may find that there are easier and less expensive ways to treat your pain.

Although that doesn't mean that you cannot go and get Botox for that other nagging inconvenience in your life: the signs of aging.
