Breast enlargement is a hugely popular cosmetic surgery procedure with many women investing large sums of money to enhance their appearance via enlargement of their breasts. It is understandable why many women would undergo the surgical procedure, as breasts are highly representative of a female's attractiveness and sex appeal. For many women who do feel that their breast size is too small, it can be a continuing source of self-depreciation, leading to an overall poor self-image and self-esteem.

However, breast surgery besides being costly, can be painful. A large majority of patients who undergo breast enlargement surgery may experience a change in breast sensation. If this happens, it can take up to six months for it to return too normal. Another disadvantage of breast enlargement surgery is the high cost. Many women therefore will not pursue surgery since they cannot afford it, or simply don't feel the results are worth the money.

Most breast enlargement pumps operate in a similar fashion. The pump is attached to the breasts and then pumped creating a suction in which your breasts are pulled outward. The companies manufacturing such a device claim that it works by (1) Swelling the breast tissue by vacuuming fats and fluids into breast tissue cells causing them to expand; (2) Expanding the mammary gland tissue to its fullest by stimulating a balanced natural hormone level, similar to when you were a teenager, when your breasts were experiencing the most growth; and (3) Increasing collagen production to firm the breasts.

A new pump-like system has been recently created that is drawing critical acclaim. The BRAVA® Breast Enhancement and Shaping System is bra with some sort of pumping device. The device applies a gentle, sustained tension on your breasts, which causes cells to replicate and produce new breast tissue.

This device was invented by Harvard-trained plastic surgeon, Dr. Roger Khouri. He says it is real device that is head and shoulders above prior breast pump technologies. Part of its credibility is the significant time investment required to experience results. The bra needs to be worn for at least 10 hours a day for a 10 to 12 week period for results to become obvious.

So if you're investigating breast enlargement pumps, be sure to investigate all information thoroughly. If you should pursue breast enlargement pumps, an advantage is that it is significantly cheaper and safer than surgery.
