The second type of camouflage cosmetic, the contouring products, are made up of two essential elements and both are necessary to achieve a natural-looking result. The first element is the highlighter and the second is the contouring shadow. When properly applied these products draw attention to certain areas of the face and cast a shadow on any areas that might be swollen and healing. These cosmetics can be great for individuals who have undergone facial implant surgery or rhinoplasty.

When it comes to bruising or discoloration, color-correctors are the absolute best. These products come in two different tints: lavender and green. Each color works to offset the results of healing. The lavender tint is typically used to disguise bruising while the green tint is used to hide redness.

The best thing about camouflage cosmetics is that they are not just for women. These products can be used by anyone who is healing after plastic surgery. As long as your doctor feels that you are appropriately healed and you are ready to get back to your regular schedule you should be ready for camouflage cosmetics.

Plastic surgery can be extremely empowering so don't let bruises, swelling and incision lines keep you confined to your house when you are ready to get out and hit the town. Camouflage cosmetics are usually so effective that no one will even realize that you have gone under the knife.
