Camouflage Cosmetics

If you have just had plastic surgery and you are ready to get out and show off your new look camouflage cosmetics can accentuate your newfound beauty and hide any evidence of surgery.

Almost everyone who goes through plastic surgery will have swelling, bruising and incision lines that are visible, but camouflage cosmetics can be used to hide these side effects until they fade away. These products are hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and are specifically designed to disguise the things that you may not want others to notice.

There are three types of camouflage cosmetics: concealers, contouring products and color-correctors. Each product serves a slightly different purpose so usually the flaws that you are trying to hide will determine the type of product that is necessary.

Three Types of Camouflage Cosmetics

  • Concealers - cover up incision lines & scar
  • Contouring products - highlight best features
  • Color-correctors - best for bruising & discoloration

Concealer is typically the most popular camouflage cosmetic. This product is used to cover up incision lines, scars and bruising so just about any plastic surgery patient can use it. A good concealer will be creamy enough to blend in naturally with the rest of your face so that no one will even know that you are wearing make-up.

The second type of camouflage cosmetic, the contouring products, are made up of two essential elements and both are necessary to achieve a natural-looking result. The first element is the highlighter and the second is the contouring shadow. When properly applied these products draw attention to certain areas of the face and cast a shadow on any areas that might be swollen and healing. These cosmetics can be great for individuals who have undergone facial implant surgery or rhinoplasty.

When it comes to bruising or discoloration, color-correctors are the absolute best. These products come in two different tints: lavender and green. Each color works to offset the results of healing. The lavender tint is typically used to disguise bruising while the green tint is used to hide redness.

The best thing about camouflage cosmetics is that they are not just for women. These products can be used by anyone who is healing after plastic surgery. As long as your doctor feels that you are appropriately healed and you are ready to get back to your regular schedule you should be ready for camouflage cosmetics.

Plastic surgery can be extremely empowering so don't let bruises, swelling and incision lines keep you confined to your house when you are ready to get out and hit the town. Camouflage cosmetics are usually so effective that no one will even realize that you have gone under the knife.
